Emory Law Journal

The Emory Law Journal is published six times a year. We will begin accepting submissions for Volume 76, to be published during the 2026-2027 academic year, on February 1, 2026.

We only accept electronic submissions for publication, and do so via Scholastica. Do not send manuscripts to the Emory Law Journal via email to the journal or individual editors.

Submission Requirements

ELJ is restricted editorially only by the limits of legal scholarship and interest. We encourage submissions that explore novel and prescriptive claims.

We prefer that manuscripts do not exceed 30,000 words, including footnotes.

Expedited Review

If you have submitted a manuscript for review by the Emory Law Journal and would like to request an expedited review, you have two options. All submissions should include an abstract between 1-4 paragraphs in length and less than 300 words. Citations in submissions should follow The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020). Please use footnotes rather than endnotes.
